‘Branches’

Like trees, we may grow in unpredictable directions, contorting, shedding our leaves, and exposing our bare branches, though we continue to grow towards the light. As I spent much of the pandemic at home, I isolated long enough to recognize my growth as an individual; it felt a lot like branches, growing and molding in and around their unique environment. However, I did not yet feel like a tree, I did not feel planted, I did not feel as though I had taken root in myself just yet. ‘Branches’, the second part of a three-part series illustrates this part of my journey as the model mirrors the branches and logs that dance on the ground but have not yet been identified as part of a tree that takes up toward the skies.
