‘Decent Exposure’
As I continue to reintroduce myself to who I become at each stage of maturity, I analyze my relationship with privacy. Growing away from using privacy as a means to protect the vulnerable parts of myself, I become more comfortable with shedding my armor and stepping into my new skin, protected by confidence rather than walls. In this self-portrait series which explores vulnerability, and transformation, I highlight a physical insecurity of mine in an attempt to push past the bounds my previous notions of what it means to be protected. While grappling with the dichotomy between intimacy and privacy, I intend to challenge the conventional concepts of beauty and what is “decent” to share with the public.
