Outtakes I: Seasons of Obscurity

With every photoshoot I do, I am learning more and more about discernment. Pickiness often has a negative connotation though selectiveness is imperative as a creative; as a human being. Alignment with the things that serve you, your pace, your journey makes the outcome so much more worth while. With this shoot in particular, I was very selective. I was “picky” with choosing Monica as the model, I was “picky” with deciding the wardrobe to embody each persona, and though the hardest part, I was “picky” with which images made it to the final reel. This body of work is just as reflective as my journey as an artist as it is an embodiment of the struggle to get here, and I take a lot of pride in it. I hope to encourage other artists and creatives to embrace discernment and to choose to protect their peace.
